EST
1994

For one Saturday in each September, Morrison’s downtown is transformed into an outdoor canvas for hundreds of artists of all ages who gather to “paint the town.” The Children’s Art Preservation Association created this unique family arts festival as a way for the community to come together and enjoy the arts. The focus of the event is the painting of blank squares and circles on and around Morrison’s Historical Main Street. The number of squares painted has grown steadily from 250 squares at PTT's debut in 1994, to more than 1,500 squares painted by 2,000+ individuals. Annually, more than 6,000 people attend the event to enjoy the painting and art, variety of entertainment, and great food! Each year, CAPA creates a uniquely designed t-shirt to express the vibrant and colorful energy of the yearly theme of each Paint The Town. For years after, many celebrate the event and their favorite themes by wearing the memorable apparel.
